Become a qualified DAEP

Today on the Internet you can find a number of listings for “natural trimmers”, many claiming to practice the “KC La Pierre method” after only participating in a single course. This is very, very far from being sufficient to master not only the HPT Method, but also the science of Applied Equine Podiatry. The only equine podiatrists who can claim to apply the methods and tools of applied equine podiatry are those that have earned their diploma from the Institute of Applied Equine Podiatry. The latter are identified by the acronym DAEP (Diploma Applied Equine Podiatry) after their name. This means that they have successfully met the requirements set forth by the Institute. A minimum of 500 hours (300 hours of theory and 200 hours of onsite practice) and have successfully passed a final written theory exam and a final practical exam. In addition, in order to maintain their active DAEP status with the Institute and to be listed on this site, graduates are required to be active alumni following the guidelines set forth by the Institute’s Code of Ethics.
