This 5-day Holistic Hoof trimming course is presented by the Institute of Applied Equine Podiatry and is taught by Master Applied Equine Podiatrist, KC La Pierre, MAEP, APF, RJF, CF, Co-founder of IAEP. The HPT Method was introduced in 1999 and has been taught the world over with great success. In this course you will increase your understanding of hoof anatomy and hoof function, through dissection. This will be the most in-depth functional anatomy dissection you will ever see. The importance of hoof to foot balance is taught and how to achieve it. This course deposit reserves you a spot on the Ocala Florida 5 Day Hoof Trimming course. This deposit is non-refundable and constitutes a binding contract, with the balance of the tuition for this course due 60 days prior to the course. By paying this deposit you authorize IAEP, Inc. to charge your account the full tuition balance 30 days prior to the course date selected. Tuition in non-refundable. Classroom materials will be supplied, to include, but not limited to a printed power point hand-out and spectrum forms. Tuition does not include book, tools, travel, room, or board.

Please contact our office to purchase KC approved tools. A minimum of a farriers knife, farriers rasp and handle, and approved apron will be required for trimming. If you have tools, please have them sharp and in good working order.

The curriculum of our hands-on course was developed to provide a broad, in-depth study of the equine foot and its workings. Structure, Function and Performance are all defined. Gait, conformation, and environment are addressed. You will learn proper tool use in the application of the HPT Method (trim). It is our hope that this course will lead to an increased desire to learn all one can about Applied Equine Podiatry and its practice. This course will provide the Care Giver with many of the answers to the questions about barefoot, Applied Equine Podiatry and the HPT Method. Developing communication skills, so that you may better communicate your needs to the professional care giver is one of the many goals of this course.
